After establishing a relationship — often over several years — with a believer inside a correctional facility, we organize a small group of volunteers from local churches to meet that believer “at the gate,” upon their release. A welcome home group on that first day is a landmark event, and shows that family and others care. By connecting at this important juncture, we help facilitate a connection with a church community and a mentor, and encourage attendance at Radical Time Out. Those early months after release — particularly for inmates who have served longer sentences — require careful transition and support.
