Mark Macy, Chair

Mark is our newest member, joining the board in January 2022, and becoming chair in January 2024.  A game designer and lead programmer for the arcade game company Play Mechanix, Mark has a passion for global and local missions.  He is an active member of Church of the Resurrection in Wheaton, regularly visits detainees at the DuPage County Jail, and leads weekly Bible studies in the men’s division at Cook County Jail.  Mark is an official volunteer with the Illinois Department of Corrections and helps coordinate KHM’s volunteer training for ministries within correctional facilities.

Joe Agnello, Vice Chair

Joe is a Chicago area attorney, concentrating in real estate and transactional law, with a criminal prosecution and defense background, and often volunteers with advising people in need when navigating the justice system.  He joined the Board in 2012 and served as chair from 2014 to 2016.  Joe attends Village Church of Bartlett.

Jeanette Spurgis, Secretary-Treasurer

Jeanette spent over 30 years as a small business owner in Wheaton, Illinois, and managed the business’ finances.  She attends GOSPELIFE Church’s North Wheaton campus and has participated in many mission trips to an orphanage in Mexico.  Previously a teacher with the re-entry ministry Jobs Partnerships, she now serves with KHM’s Cook County Jail ministry in the women’s division.  Jeanette joined the Board in 2015 and when not volunteering, is a regular attender at Radical Time Out™ and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Chuck Martin

Chuck owns and operates several Culver’s restaurant franchises in the Chicago suburbs.  He is an elder at Glen Ellyn Bible Church and has shared his expertise in strategic planning and management, both with Koinonia House Ministries and his church.  Chuck has mentored several post-prison believers and often joins in prison visits.  He first joined the Board in 2013 and served as chair from 2017-2020.

Rodney Massey

Rodney’s first board meeting was on the six-year anniversary of his release from prison in 2014.  He first connected with the ministry over 25 years ago, while serving a 50-year sentence.  Today, he is building an HVAC and refrigeration business, is active in the prayer ministries at his church, New Life Covenant, and joins our teams in prison visits.  But his most exciting ministry began in 2022, when he became the pastor for Highpoint Church’s campus in Stateville Correctional Center!  Rodney likes to say:  “Your Call is Greater than your Fall.”

Manny Mill, CEO

Manny serves as chief executive officer and board member of Koinonia House Ministries, which was birthed out of his own incarceration and post-prison experiences.  He serves alongside the board, staff and volunteers in seeking the salvation of our neighbors in prison and their continued discipleship out of prison.  (For a more complete biography, click here.)

Pat Selvaggio

Pat is a commercial and residential real estate consultant, developer, and investor, having built his real estate brokerage company, RealtyWorks, over more than 30 years in the northern Illinois market.  He has served as an elder at his church, Village Church in Bartlett, Illinois.  Pat joined the Board in 2012.

Harold Trujillo

Harold currently serves as a regional director for Bible League International, a post that involves advisory work and outreach with church planting, Bible studies, and pastor development, around the world.  He is also the Spanish Ministries pastor at Emmanuel Bible Church, a congregation in Berwyn, Illinois.  Harold first connected with the ministry many years ago when his brother was incarcerated.  He then joined the Board in 2016 and served as chair from 2020-2023.

Bob Wolfson

A Board member since 2012, Bob is an estate-planning attorney in the Chicago area, specializing in financial planning, tax advisory, and family and business planning.  He is an experienced in-prison volunteer, ministering regularly in Cook County Jail, and other corrections facilities in Illinois, over many years.  He is active at The Orchard Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Kathy Woods

Kathy has been a member of the Board since 2011, and currently leads the children’s and family ministry programs at Wellspring Alliance Church in Wheaton.  She previously served on the staff at Christ Church of Oak Brook, in adult and children’s ministries, and was in leadership for many years with Bible Study Fellowship.
