Worship & Spiritual Growth Behind Bars

Koinonia House Ministries (KHM) conducts uplifting services inside prison and jail walls, offering inmates the opportunity to experience the joy of praise, prayer, and studying the Word of God. Through these gatherings, incarcerated individuals are reminded of God’s presence and love, fostering spiritual renewal even in the most challenging environments.

Where We Serve, Locally and Beyond

  • Sheridan Correctional Center, Sheridan, IL — Monthly worship services
  • Danville Correctional Center, Danville, IL — Quarterly worship services
  • Prayer Conferences — Two-day gatherings offering focused prayer, discipleship, and encouragement
  • DuPage County Jail — One-on-one pastoral visits as requested
  • Cook County Jail — Weekly Bible studies and individual pastoral visits as requested
  • Mississippi Department of Corrections — Multi-day ministry trips to various facilities within the MDOC, especially the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman
  • Louisiana Department of Corrections — Multi-day ministry trips to various facilities within Louisiana’s DOC, especially at LSP Angola and Elayn Hunt Correctional Center

In addition to our direct prison outreach, KHM staff and volunteers partner with local churches to help develop and strengthen their own prison ministry teams.  By equipping others to serve, we extend the reach of God’s love to even more individuals behind bars.
