The "But God" moment in the life of

Sarah Gonzalez

Coping with the loss of her father as a child, total rebellion could not stop God’s love from pursuing Sarah even after she spent years seeking solace through witchcraft and social justice programs designed to instill hatred toward others.

Sarah was in the womb the first time she accompanied her parents Andy and Marjean Gonzalez in ministry inside Cook County Jail!

Now Sarah (left) volunteers as KHM’s ministry coordinator for the Cook County Jail, having picked up the baton passed on by her mother (far right).  In addition to being KHM’s liaison with the jail administration and serving regularly with Bible studies for the women detainees, she organized the 2022 Christmas Gift Bag project — overseeing the acquisition of socks, toothpaste, shampoo, and snacks for 1,200 men and women detainees housed in the three divisions where KHM ministers weekly.
